From Quantity to Quality— How Our Custom Lipstick Workshops Are Changing the Beauty Game in Perth
As a makeup artist with over a decade of experience running my own Bridal and event makeup business, Black Lash Makeup, I’ve spoken to hundreds of women who all have the same complaint when it comes to makeup. They don’t know what products or techniques suit them, and they don’t know what to use or how to use it.
I was in the early stages of investigating white label cosmetic brands when The Lip Lab went up for sale, and for the first time in my small business career I followed my gut.
The thing I love most about being a makeup artist is being an educator. Having the opportunity to share with busy women the tips and tricks we all use to get the best out of our makeup and skincare so that we can feel confident and beautiful every day. I wanted to be able to give the women who came to my lessons and workshops, products that would do what they say they do, are easy to use and ALWAYS available. The Lip Lab, with it’s custom makeup offering was something even better — a way to create their own personalised lipstick, foundation and more, tailored exactly to their style, skin tone, and preferences, with guidance from a professional who actually gets it. With this in mind we’ve revamped our group offering. It will now be less about churning out as many lipsticks as we can in an hour and more about enjoying a quality experience whilst sipping prosecco, gaining knowledge from professional makeup artists and creating something truly perfect for you. That’s exactly what our Signature Lip Experience Workshop is all about.
So, what actually happens in the Lip Experience Workshop?
It’s a two-hour, hands-on beauty experience in our gorgeous Perth store in the luxury precinct, Raine Square. When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed with bubbles and a cheese and fruit platter, one of our experienced makeup artists will then walk you through our look and learn style lesson where we will cover everything you need to know about the perfect lipstick and application techniques. Once we’ve answered all your questions, the creativity will begin as we craft you the perfect lipstick to take home with you that day.
Together, you’ll mix, match, blend, and test until you land on your perfect lipstick. You choose the texture, tone, scent and finish — and yes, you even get to name it.
Once you’re happy, we heat and spin it, set it into your choice of 1 of 2 moulds and cast it into a luxe lipstick case, and send you home with your very own custom creation. It’s equal parts pampering and play.
